In addition to our Sunday morning worship service, Sunday School classes are a great way to be connected to others and grow in discipleship. Most classes begin around 10am. Check out this list of current class offerings. (List Updated as of November 2024)

First Baptist Church Sunday School Class Information:
Meeting Time: Sundays at 10:00 AM
Location: Second Floor, Study Room (above the Welcome Center)
Description: This class welcomes men and women aged 40 and above. The group engages in a variety of studies, including book studies and discussions on current events using The Wired Word.
Teachers: Kim and David Williams, Jane Whitaker, Cissy Lunce, and Erica Harris
Meeting Time: Sundays at 10:00 AM
Location: Room 107 (down the main hallway from the church office)
Description: This senior adult class (ages 65 and up) is a mixed group that explores scripture through the Formations Series Literature. Each session opens with prayer for those on the weekly prayer list, followed by a guided discussion of scripture.

Meeting Time: Sundays at 9:45 AM
Location: Church Basement (former fellowship hall)
Description: Open to men of all ages, this class uses Lifeway’s Explore the Bible literature. With skilled teachers, including local university and public school educators, the class offers structured Bible study where members can participate as they feel comfortable.
Teachers: Bill Conn, Chad Chrisman, and David Etter. (Substitute Teacher: Eugene Siler, Jr.)
Meeting Time: Sundays at 10:00 AM
Location: First Floor Parlor
Description: This women’s class includes ladies of all ages, with most members in their 60s to 90s. Teaching is done on a rotating basis by three class members, with lessons focused on the Bible and Formations Series Literature. The class is active in mission work, regularly supporting various causes and needs generously.

Meeting Time: Sundays at 10:10 AM
Location: Second Floor, Study Room (above the first floor Parlor)
Description: This diverse class includes members from various age groups and backgrounds, from college students to recent retirees. Each week features a video-based discussion focused on different discipleship topics, encouraging engagement and conversation around faith and personal growth.
